A couple of tools you may want to check out are TweetDeck - http://www.tweetdeck.com (a desktop client that allows you to watch tweets, replies, direct messages and you can create groups for the people you follow) and TweetBeep - http://www.tweetbeep.com (You can get emails with your keywords and that includes replies).
