Proud to make a difference
October 2nd, 2007 | by geo |I am very proud to be a part of Kiva. It’s amazing that half of the world’s population is living on less than $2 per day. By donating only $25 you can make a big impact on a rising entrepreneur in a developing country. Kiva enables anyone with a bank account to become a microcreditor, giving entrepreneurs the necessary capital to get new businesses off the ground, thus creating new jobs and expanding the local economy.

Intelligence and energy are equal in all corners of the world, but opportunities are limited by lack of formal education and investment dollars. We should all be aware of that fact, and if we have an internet connection and a bank account we can make a BIG IMPACT on the lives of others, and it takes about 30 seconds of your time.
I have loaned to Pablina Meza in Paraguay.

| Name: | Pablina Meza |
|---|---|
| Location: | Paraguari, Paraguay |
| Business Name: | Despensa Pablina |
| Activity: | Grocery Store |
| Loan Requested: | $600.00 |
| Repayment Term: | 12 months - repaid monthly |
| Loan Use: | Compra de aceite, azúcar, fideos, harina, panificados, etc. |
”Pablina is 58 years old; she’s married to Felipe Vargas who works on agriculture. They have a daughter and a son, he’s a policeman and she’s a teacher, they both have professions because of their parents hard work and effort. Pablina learned how to work with her mother, who taught her to manage the business and with the help of her husband they could expand to meet the client demand and this way get more income to help her mother out and give a better life to their children. Now her children are independent thanks to the help she gave them before. Pablina needs the loan to buy oil, sugar, noodles, flour, dairies, breads, beverages, and other products now that she has a solid client base.”
