Inside the Googleplex
January 25th, 2008 | by geo |I spent last night at Google’s HQ in Mountain View, mingling with a room full of SUPER SMART engineers, product managers, business owners, and “googlers.”
I was amazed at the amount of innovation in the room. There were probably 50 people (all developing applications for the Google Mobile Platform, Android. It wasn’t just the sheer number of people, or the really unique apps I learned about that impressed me the most. It was actually talking to the people in the room, and learning about their different backgrounds, and various groups/organizations they are involved in. Everything from financial services, bio-tech, chemistry, physics, energy and on and on and on……..I mean, brilliant people.
It’s this diverse group of smart and creative minds that is going to make Android a global success. With classic Google intentions, this group is attempting to re-write the “rules” and change the game.
Here is a quick clip of the first Android developer forum…”Campfire.”
